Brighton and Hove Albion’s deal for Cologne star Jakub Kaminski could be done ‘in a few days’ time, with him keen to move to England.
Express report on the 24-year-old today across two different reports. They state that a move to Brighton is impending.
€20m release clause
The newspaper explains that Cologne are eyeing around €70m in total from star players Said El Mala and Jakub Kaminski this summer.
While there has been speculation about both, things ‘could move quickly’ with Kaminski, as his release clause expires in mid-July. According to reports in Germany, he can leave for €20m this summer.
The German club are well aware that he wants to ‘fulfil his dream’ of playing in England. Brighton have been named as suitors for a while. Sport Witness have covered various reports about their interest.
One in the middle of last month stated that they wanted the move. A follow-up explained his agents were working on the potential deal. Now Express report that Brighton are prepared to pay the €20m figure to get him.
Deal ‘in a few days’
In fact, the belief at Cologne is that they could lose one of their star men ‘in a few days’ time’. All indications are that Kaminski will leave and Brighton will be his destination.
The Bundesliga will receive a major profit on the Polish winger. They paid €5.5m to sign him permanently this summer after he had spent the last season on loan from Wolfsburg.
That deal has proven to be a smart one as the 24-year-old went on to score seven goals and register five assist in 36 games in all competitions.
Now he appears destined for the Premier League and a €20m move to Brighton.
