Bramly inherits tricky situation as new CEO of LFP Media

June 30 – LFP Media, the venture managing the commercial rights for top-tier French football, has appointed Olivier Bramly as CEO.
Bramly, most recently CEO for media and entertainment at Evision, takes the role following the departure of Nicolas de Tavernost in February.
He was quickly followed through the exit by Director General Martin Aurenche, who stepped down the same month.
French media reported last week that Bramly’s selection was finalised through a process involving three club Presidents and LFP President Vincent Labrune, withminority shareholder CVC Capital Partners also said to be involved. Bramly previously spent time at Fox Networks Group and 15 years at Eurosport.
The job itself is daunting. Ligue 1’s media rights have been a source of turmoil for seven years, falling sharply in value, with the LFP falling out badly with broadcasters including BeIN Sports, run by PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi, plus legal battles with Canal Plus and DAZN. Poor relations with France’s dominant platforms leave few easy routes back.
Bramly’s main focus will be growing Ligue 1+, the league’s in-house streaming platform launched last July. Initial numbers looked promising, but the service will need to grow further in 2026-27 to cover the shortfall from traditional TV. The annual tier’s fee was raised to $19.99 on June 12.
The gap is significant: last season’s BeIN deal, worth €78.5 million annually, is gone. Bramly has to replace it. A big job, in a seat that hasn’t been kind.
