June 30 – A record number of teams will go into the draw for the Preliminary Stage of the 2026/27 AFC Women’s Champions League (AWCL), now in its third season.
A total of 30 clubs, from 29 different member associations, five more than last year’s edition, have entered the competition, with 24 teams going into the pot for the draw this Thursday (July 2) at AFC House in in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The 24 teams in the preliminary stage draw are the lowest ranked in the overall entry and will be drawn into six groups of four,
