Manchester United bid expected
The newspaper explains that Manu Koné’s future could be decided on Saturday when France take on England in the World Cup third-placed play-off.
The 25-year-old midfielder is being targeted by Manchester United and Chelsea, who are expected to make an offer for him in the coming days.
They are aware that Roma need to make a profit from sales to settle a dispute with UEFA, ahead of competing in the Champions League next season. The two Premier League sides are taking different approaches.
Manchester United have first tested the waters with Koné’s entourage. They have discovered he is fully open to the move, even though his dream was to play for Paris Saint-Germain. Roma are expecting an offer of at least of at least €55-60m for a key player, albeit one they know they need to sell.
Roma will turn to Celtic
Should he depart as expected, Roma would be forced to return to the transfer market for midfielders. Among the players monitored in recent weeks is Celtic star Arne Engels.
