De Zerbi’s Tottenham decision seen as vital assist – Loan deal depends on competition

Guglielmo Vicario appears out of the Tottenham Hotspur’s plans and there is renewed hope of Juventus signing him.

Earlier this week, SportWitness covered Napoli’s interest in the 29-year-old. There were also suggestions regards a swap deal involving Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

However, this hasn’t changed Juventus’ stance with Vicario. They are expected to part ways with Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin, which makes signing a keeper a priority for Luciano Spalletti.

A decision from Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has now given hope to the Old Lady.

Gazzetta dello Sport report Spalletti would ‘love’ to see Vicario in his squad. He’s received positive signs from the Spurs boss after he removed the keeper from their pre-season friendlies due to injury.

This decision from De Zerbi is seen as a ‘nice assist’ by the newspaper, who clarify that Juve will intensify their interest for the Azzurri player.

The Bianconeri continue to face difficulties in a move for Emi Martinez. Aston Villa are refusing to back down from their demands, forcing Juve to move for Vicario.

Spalletti’s side are keen on an initial loan deal, with an option to buy. Their aim is to limit the initial spending and consider a permanent deal across the season.

Tottenham’s decision about a loan is yet to reported. Itcwould depend largely on what competitors are offering, with Napoli’s intentions yet to be formalised.
