Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is now back at the top of Juventus’ list as they seek a new goalkeeper.
Quotidiano Sportivo report that the Tottenham goalkeeper is now the ‘top priority’ for the Italian giants and talks are planned in the next few days.
Top priority for Juventus
The newspaper explains that while Guglielmo Vicario has been left out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour because of an ankle injury, the reality is that he’s on the market.
That works for Juventus. They’re seeking a goalkeeper who can ‘step into a leading role’ between the posts. While younger options were considered, the technical staff are keen on an experienced goalkeeper. Vicario ‘fits that description’. They have identified him as the ‘ideal candidate’.
Tottenham’s asking price could be the problem. They want €20m, a figure that Juventus consider as high. A ‘careful negotiation’ is required for the two parties to reach an agreement.
Juventus would prefer to work out a more advantageous structure for themselves. The plan would be to reduce the immediate financial outlay. That could be achieved by including bonuses or devising a solution to spread payments across multiple fiscal years.
