The race for Sunderland winger Chemsdine Talbi is currently ‘wide open’ with options in Türkiye and Saudi Arabia on the table.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Galatasaray, Besiktas and Al-Ittihad are among the options for the 21-year-old at this moment in time.
The goal is to move the Moroccan player before the transfer window closes elsewhere. Whether that is the goal for Sunderland or the player isn’t made clear.
Sunderland exit
Either way, Chemsedine Talbi appears to be on his way out of Sunderland after just a year at the Stadium of Light. Reports in England have indicated that he has been left out of their European squad for the season.
That has seemingly led him and his agents to scouring the market for options. Now it is Galatasaray and Besiktas in Türkiye and Al-Ittihad in Sauri Arabia.
The transfer window in Türkiye closes on Friday at 12pm while the Saudi window does not close until October 12th. So, Al-Ittihad have an advantage on that front.
What Sunderland demand for the winger remains to be seen. They paid €20m for the winger last summer. He is now valued at €25m after four goals and two assists in 31 games for Sunderland to date.
€30m to cover Fofana?
They will likely be seeking to get their money back, at least. An initial €30m asking price would make sense given that’s the price that the Black Cats paid for Malick Fofana on deadline day.
Selling Talbi to cover that deal for the Lyon winger could make a lot of sense. For now, the focus is on which of the three suitors at the table now come forward with serious bids.
The Turkish duo need to move quickly given their deadline is approaching. It would not be surprising to see Al-Ittihad wait to see what they do first. They can gauge how things go before moving themselves given they are under no such pressures.
Race for Chemsdine Talbi wide open.
Galatasaray, Besiktas, & Al-Ittihad are among the options, but no destination has been decided upon at this moment.
What is certain is that the goal is to move the Moroccan player before the transfer windows close.
